Review on 🔩 50472 Deluxe Plate Hanger with Steel Pro Support, 10"-14", Holds Up to 30 lbs by Dontra Majmudar

Purchased 4 hangers from 10" to 14" with a stated load capacity of 30lb. The project consisted of mounting two snowboards on the wall in our basement as exhibits. The heaviest weighed 11 pounds and using two hangers 32 inches apart should have been more than enough. This wasn't the case, the hangers weren't holding the boards due to a spring break (only 4 springs couldn't support 11lbs). Rather than returning the products, I used 25 pounds of wire to attach the bottom of each "w" to the opposite side once it was already attached to the board. This eliminated spring play and ensured a secure fit of both boards. This would probably also be a good precaution for those using them to support the plates as the springs are extremely weak and tend to give out at the worst possible moment. The rest of the mount seems solid enough to hold a nominal 30 pounds and the coated hooks are definitely good for protecting the edges of whatever you're hanging. Overall, it's a shame that a product doesn't work properly without modification, but if you understand there's a problem and are willing to fix it, it can be a worthwhile option.
