I bought it because of the rave reviews and the brush (I use the same type of disposable brush twice a day) when my worries about the sound died. Upon receipt I have to say I just don't understand the love everyone has with this brush. Maybe if I waited and saw an improvement after a visit to the dentist, but this wasn't my first electric toothbrush and I didn't see anything special. Actually it was a big disappointment. First, there is only one speed. There is no timer. The button is hard to press to turn it on (not good for my arthritic fingers), then you have to wait about five seconds to turn it back on with a sip of foam. My biggest disappointment was that the brushes were useless. Everything I tried broke almost immediately. The cheap disposables I buy at the drugstore never break. I sent this child back.
