These peanuts are messier and much more agricultural grade than anything I've fed street birds in the past - it's like cattle feed or whole peanuts for pet birds Get your hands in the peanuts to fill the feeder, your hands get covered in dark, oily debris covering the peanuts, and that debris is everywhere - phew! My feeder is eco sealed on the outside and since using this brand I have to throw out the old peanuts that are stuck together in the center of the feeder. This accounts for 60-75% of the peanuts in the feeder. Once these nuts are moist to the touch, they join together and form a stem. This has not happened with other brands and I attribute this to the quality and provenance of this brand.
