Review on πŸ”Œ Seagate Expansion 3TB Portable USB 3.0 External Hard Drive (STEA3000400) in Black by Makoto Maeda ᠌

Revainrating 2 out of 5

A useless product, its not worth the money.

Maybe I certainly did not understand the software, but the impressions are, to put it mildly, tarnished. And the disc itself is good, yes. ate: Bad external hard drive. It was just plugged into the computer and suddenly decided to stop being detected by the system (before that, it once threw out a similar trick). It was possible to restore working capacity (Windows brought the hard drive back to life for 3 hours), but the entire photo archive from the last vacation was lost, as was the backup of photos from the smartphone and important working information. Thanks to Seagate, they convinced me to buy a cloud. Still, I was able to recover some of the files, only 4 hours of my time. Total, one incomprehensible glitch and 7 hours of life and nerves spent.

Pros
  • Compact lightweight hard drive. Looks pretty. Works quite smartly. Reliability is poor, see comment. I’ll note right away that I didn’t drop the disc, I wore it in a case, it was always safe to remove it.
Cons
  • I took the disk specifically for synchronizing projects at work, tk. I work regularly from home. I was very glad that you can download a utility from the manufacturer's website that will synchronize data in a folder on your computer and on your hard drive. RESULT: Seagate Toolkit was created by rare Indians. Situation: I copied the files on my computer to a folder on my hard drive. I checked, everything is OK, they appeared on the external hard drive. I did a piece of work, transferred it to a hard one. I open it, but I don’t have these files either on an external hard drive or on a computer. Evaporated. And the program happily reports that there are no more 20 gigs of files on the hard drive. Sometimes, when copying, it loads the computer so that my conductor hangs up. Although it would seem. 2 It may suddenly stop being detected by the system and then if you're lucky you can restore the information, if you're not lucky you won't be able to. Question . Why do I need software that decides for me what I need. And does not fulfill its main function, to backup everything to a folder on your computer?
