It works and gives my camera mounts a rest...until it breaks IT I've never trusted a camera mount. This thing is very strong and sturdy and will hold up better than a cheap 1 1/2" plate. This quick release is also a great addition to this product. The locking mechanism on it is solid and doesn't need to be tightened like most kits like tripod stands. This is a professional panel and you can't go wrong with this, my only downside (but it doesn't affect the stars) is that I had to use my old base panel screw that goes to the camera to install the base panel, I did then unscrewed the screws that came with the kit to attach the mounting plate to the lens plate THEN I was able to slide over it and it works. This should include a few extra screws so you don't have to mess with the plate work. You'll need those use old disk to install on new one Kinds resists the purpose of investing in it but it is Needless to say, it's definitely worth investing in.
