Works as intended! They are designed to cover the end of the brake cable and prevent the end from unraveling. Unlike treacherous poles, they are not designed to "stop" the cable. Works well and I use them on my BMX road bikes with no problem. You handle insults well. A note: some brake cables may have a slightly tight fit in the hole.
