Before I knew more about Vega I was completely addicted to their products! I LOVE the taste of Vega One and I also love Vega Sport. However, I recently learned that their products have not been tested for HEAVY METAL content (ConsumerLab, LabDoor, 3rd party testers). Vega One failed in particular because of cadmium and lead; Vega Sport failed to lead. In addition, their products have far more sodium than the label says and fewer vitamins and minerals than the label says (LabDoor). Vega Sport was also found to contain around 24-25g of protein per serving, as opposed to the 30g promised on the label. I'm very disappointed in Vega - Vega has always been my favorite protein source and I've always looked forward to that post-run/post-wake smoothie or protein oatmeal in the evening. But how can I ignore the possibility of metal poisoning? Especially since I've been taking it regularly, I've had major breathing difficulties and sometimes my lungs feel like I have pneumonia; I also had high blood pressure and joint pain.
