I used to buy other digital scales to measure coffee for brewing; I found the 1g accuracy was not high enough and I wanted the scale to respond more quickly when adding beans/ground coffee. I bought this scale looking for the above qualities; So far it has met my criteria quite well. Being accurate to the tenth of a gram helps me ensure I'm using the same or intended amount of beans/grist every time and the scale absorbs changes much more quickly than my previous scales. The device itself is well made and works great so far. I appreciate the plastic lids it comes with so I can cover and store after each use. It's just the right size for a 34-ounce coffee mug or French press, and the TARE function makes it easy to use a variety of containers to hold whatever you want to measure. Unless it suddenly breaks without warning, this is exactly what I needed for brewing coffee (I saw that it came with a 12 month guarantee so I can be reasonably confident that the manufacturer stands behind the product).
