I have a 13.5 gallon Fluval AIO on my light stand by my bed which I installed in late January 2021. About 2 weeks ago I bought a protein skimmer. That works great. I don't have anything to compare it to, but it added noise (gurgling) and will add a lot of microbubbles depending on the type of filtration system. I replaced the sponge filter that came with the tank with a filter thread, which helped a lot against the microbubbles, but in terms of sound, that's the only thing I hear the most in the tank. Additional aquarium information: I have a coral collection, BTA, two clowns and a scooter. I keep my skimmer valves wide open and the tank stays very clean. I feed the fish daily and feed the corals and anemones 3 times a week so the bioburden is pretty low. You can see and hear my tank on IG under the salt. so far I would recommend this skimmer for nano tanks. Ideal for 13.5 gallon AIO Fluval.
