The SSD was bought to connect to a router in order to store backups and download / distribute torrents. Usually, HDDs are bought for this purpose, but I can't stand the noise they make. Also, 2.5" HDDs (which can be powered via USB) don't make 8TB. With its pros: Large volume, relatively cheap, not heated. When connected to a router via a USB-SATA box, no additional power is required. Cons below: Other reviews mention low write speeds, but in my case it's all about gigabit ethernet on the router that this SSD is connected to, so it's not critical.
