I agree with all the reviews - both positive and negative. (Except for one crazy person who said the instructions were easy to follow. That person is crazy.) I agree the padding is too thin. Wooden parts arrived scratched. The edges are not finished (although I don't think they were rough). The supplied anchors were unusable. There were no instructions... They just weren't instructions. I'm not a newbie to furniture assembly and the instructions were ridiculous. But...my cats love it. It's definitely durable. There is nothing comparable on the market (I've looked). This is perfect for my needs. (I have dogs that like to pee on traditional scratching posts, so installing it in the wall prevents that, in addition to freeing up floor space.) Overall, it looks good. And again cats LOVE it. Maybe over time I'll replace the padding with something better, but I'd buy it again. And I would recommend it to other people, with all the caveats above.
