The first time I installed this printer on a Windows 10 PC, it was unsuccessful. I started by uninstalling the previous Epson Workforce that replaced this XP-7100. I then downloaded the latest installer package from the Epson support site. I then spent the next two hours getting it installed properly. Uninstall, reinstall, uninstall drivers, reboot, check network connections, etc. Connecting the printer to the network was easy, but neither the online installer package nor the CD that came with it was able to successfully install the drivers. I ended up having to download separate printer and scanner drivers to make it work. I give it a 5 star rating because on the second win 10 pc I tried everything installed fine and once installed everything works very well. Installation took about 20 minutes without the installation issue mentioned, including ink filling and alignment. and testing printheads. As a result, the print was excellent - both text and photos. The print speed was very fast for text and medium for photos. Document scanning was quick and easy with the ADF. The result is high-quality PDF files. The XP-7100 really excels at scanning photos. I tested this by scanning 3 photos at the same time. The scanner was smart enough to scan grouped photos as 3 separate and perfectly cropped images. The scanned images were sharper than the original photos from 30 years ago. Color reproduction was excellent and slightly richer than the original photos. The XP-7100 took over a minute to scan three photos at 600 dpi, but the result was outstanding. What I like best about the printer: 1. All printer control is done via a touch screen with a clear backlight. Much easier to see and navigate than the tons of mechanical buttons on my old Epson Workforce.2. The auto-slide control panel and output tray are great for storing the printer in a desk cabinet like mine - perfect.3. The Epson iPrint app is great. I can print from my Samsung tablet and phone with no problem. I can scan to my tablet and phone and then email the scanned image using the app. All without Turing on the PC. And the whole process works without any problems.4. So far, ADF has worked well. As with other Epsons, the ADF can be closed to give the XP-7100 a smooth, easy-to-clean top. Despite my initial setup issues, I really like this multifunctional device. I love being able to print and scan easily with my phone and tablet without having a PC. It's small enough to fit in my office desk's printer cabinet (when the printer is off). It scans photos very well and gets the job done fairly quickly.
