Blank key not machined exactly

The removed part of this product without the key looks fine, I was able to activate it with a spell I found on several websites. However, the key itself is unusable - after cutting it off by inserting it from the side, the lock only turns after a long wobble and inserting it in the other direction does not work at all. At first I thought he was badly circumcised. it was done on a machine at Home Depot, so it seemed unlikely. A careful visual inspection revealed no obvious problems, the copy appeared to be very close to the original. It wasn't until I measured with a caliper that the ugly truth came out. the dimensions of the new key blank (groove width etc.) do not match the original and deviate by up to 0.1 mm. Additionally, the two sides of the key are measured differently, which probably explains why the key behaves differently depending on how it's inserted into the lock. Genuine Toyota key blank is precisely cut, the dimensions are the same on both sides. mm (0.004 inch) doesn't seem like a huge error, but it's obviously enough to make the key unreliable. At least I got the truck to electronically recognize the key (another magic spell) so the package is fine - the engine starts when I can turn the key. But it's not reliable enough to use. The key fits in the lock with no binding or anything and I think some sensible storage could improve the situation. Given the cheap price, I'll probably try it rather than return it. and at least the keyless fob seems to work fine. Remember you get what you pay for.
