Disclaimer: I only used this once so I can don't comment on the durability. I'll update this review when it blows up. This review is for a 30V 500mA wall charger to use as a replacement for the original charger that came with my Bosch Athlet 25.2V cordless vacuum. Please ensure your model is rated for 25.2V before ordering your charger. Q. Most of them, but they make a few models with different voltages. The voltage label on the vacuum cleaner is located behind the dust container. Bosch NZ charged almost NZ$80 to replace the vacuum cleaner's wireless wall charger, which is a highway robbery. Even Dyson wants less than half that for its comparable 30V V10/V11 charger that delivers twice the power (charging at 1A). Thanks to the manufacturer that modern power supplies usually have a global input voltage. I just need a small outlet adapter which I enjoy using as I don't leave it plugged in 24/7. Looking for a replacement charger there are some 3rd party products on the market but this appeared to be the best quality from the photos (as of January 2020 for accuracy). Who really knows what's inside, but often the build quality is a good indicator. When it arrived I wasn't disappointed but rather delighted with how well made it was. First, the item was packaged very well, packed with dustproof film, bubble wrap and a custom-fit box. Second, everything looks like it's well done. - The plastic body feels solid and sturdy rather than cheap and flimsy. - The printing on the label is clear and easy to read - The cable's insulation is soft to the touch, comfortable to the touch and flexible - The cable also has good strain relief, has a ferrite bead on one end and a Velcro loop to keep it clean. - It weighs around 88g (without cable) which is actually heavier than the original Bosch charger (around 72g). Thirdly, it corresponds to what is stated on the packaging. - It matches my 25.2V Bosch Athlete (standard jack) and provides a solid connection - I measure 30V (no load) as per the label when plugged into the wall - It draws about 14- 18 watts, which seems right for 500mA charging. Speed - Heats up while charging, just like the original Bosch charger - to be expected - It stays cool and doesn't draw any measurable current when just idle (charge complete) which is great. lowest possible cost - I always worry about what security corners can be cut off by cheap crappy chargers. That's not it. Photos are current as of January 2020.
