Review on πŸ’ˆ Durable DOVO Straight Razor 1: Achieve Precise Shaving with Style by Shirley Johnson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It should never be your first razor, it should be your last.

It's extremely rare in life that you get excited about something before you get it and remain excited afterwards. It took me many months to finally decide I was willing to pay over $50 for a razor. I'm so glad I did. I have previously received five other blades from Revain, all under $25. I have no regrets about these purchases since I learned how to sharpen (I also have a few stones etc.). I was mostly disappointed with other blades as well, as they all had one or more major flaws. Worst of all are blades that are not quite flat or worse. While the professional might not be slowed down by such deformities, the newcomer has to reckon with one disappointment after another. Some may even give up. In any case, a clean shave is definitely not for those who prefer speed to elegance. As for this blade, it is a functional work of art. Everything about it seems perfect. These are size, weight, design and even packaging. While the blade isn't exactly a perfect shave, it's so close that it took me a few very gentle strokes on my Naniwa 12K razor and a few passes on the compound-loaded green rubber band. Then gently stroke it and you're done. I definitely increased the least amount of shaving performance compared to any other straight blade I have. Shaving was the most fun for me. I have read other negative reviews about this shaver. and was prepared for some disappointment but am so glad mine came without the flaws that few have experienced. I almost don't want to shave with it anymore to protect its perfection. Glory to Dovo!
