I have followed all the care instructions for my navel piercing and have not changed my initial jewelry by the allotted time. However, I suspect my piercing has not fully healed because most of the new jewelry I've bought has seemed to irritate the piercing. Whenever this happened, I reverted to my original jewelry as recommended by my piercer, but that didn't seem to help. I figured since the jewelry I wore wasn't really affecting the healing process, I might as well wear something cute. After tying this Celtic knot, all of my weird symptoms went away within a couple of weeks (after fighting the healing process for 6-8 months)! I don't know if this jewelry was somehow more compatible with my body chemistry than my starter jewelry, or if the timing was just coincidence. All I know is that after my healing process completed quickly while wearing this ring, I have never had a piercing problem again.
