Review on 💧 Gates Premium Engine Water Pump - Model 43063 by Luis Baker

Works well so far (2 months, 3000 miles). No problems installing. *Update* Had a five star rating. Now a one star rating. I pulled the drive belt on my 2007 Ford Taurus to check for intermittent squeaks. The alternator bearing squeaked when hot, but I checked all the other pulleys as well. The pulley bolted to this Gates water pump wobbled nearly 3/16 of an inch. The bearing has absolutely been REMOVED and I'm amazed he hasn't removed the seal yet. I replaced the factory water pump with this Gates unit a little over 2 years ago. and 30,000 miles ago when I replaced the front timing case. I would say 30k from the water pump is terrible and deserves a star. It's always a gamble when it comes to parts and I shouldn't be too surprised. Cheap, made in Chinese scrap. I have found that most 'equivalent' aftermarket parts fall far short of OE parts in fit, function and reliability. But they are much cheaper. Scrap again at 30k. As I said, with spare parts it's a gamble. If you don't mind, you may need to replace it again, then the price is a good deal. Otherwise, just buy a genuine Motorcraft part.
