Black bears frisked it in Michigan's Porcupine Mountains and left tracks on the orange tape I applied. Never opened or left alone. I cooked my own meal for 3, 4 days for our trip to Rocky Mountain National Park. It is used to the maximum, every centimeter of space is used. and it weighs up to 17 pounds. If you use commercial food, you have enough space for a maximum of 2 people for 2 days. It's better to have a bear canister for each member of your party. Uncomfortable and hard but I expected it. A real hassle to clip to your backpack but I expected that too.
