Review on Northside Kids Rampart Mid Hiking Boot by Aaron Franklin

I bought this size 8 little kid model for my 3 year old daughter. She started traveling alone last year as now I have to carry her one year old sister. She covered up to 4 miles with an ascent of over 600 feet. These are great shoes. She also wears good wool socks (smart wool is cool!) and has never complained about aching feet. I don't think they're fully waterproof as her socks were a bit damp on our last hike after going through some fumes, but I can't be sure it wasn't also because she 'brushed' the boots down have end of hike. in the river after fording a landslide. The only complaint I have is the ankle strap which is not long enough and not strong enough. It rises regularly and my daughter doesn't have big feet. I thought about doing what the other reviewer did and cutting off the strap to replace with laces. All in all a great shoe and I will probably buy a larger size again soon when my daughter outgrows it.
