Review on Freud Dia Mortising Shank 16 106 by Ron Long

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It's joy! suitable for milling cutters

I've been a Diablo/Freud fan since my first Diablo saw. I was about to quit woodworking because my table saw cuts were terrible, I had a Skil saw with Skil blades. It worked but the gap was terrible. I tried to increase the number of teeth, I took an Irwin blade, traces of Nasty Burn appeared on the blade itself, leaving traces of burn on each cut. At this point I almost gave up. Then I decided to pay a little more and try the powder coated Diablo blades. Every haircut was professional quality! I vowed never to buy any brand other than Freud/Diablo! Everything from saw blades to sandpaper has never let me down! I just really want them to make carbide band saws! Seriously, the day you try this, you'll never come back. There is absolutely NO BREAKAGE with this cutter, REGARDLESS OF THIS SPEED. That you should not rush to cut the cutter, but even if you do it for some reason, you will be surprised! I was a bit skeptical about the angle, maybe it didn't cut 1/2 inch all the way through the groove like it does! This little angle cuts cleanly through the walnut, just like its poplar! The shavings look like wood shavings! Monster! The photos were taken after I cut (8) 16" x 1/2 deep grooves in the walnut and there were no carbide chips or chips of paint in sight! If you have the opportunity to purchase Freud products, you will never settle content the smaller brown substance is nut dust.
