Review on πŸ”Š Immerse in Cinematic Audio with Klipsch Bar 48 Sound Bar + Wireless Subwoofer, Black (1066557) by David Tadder

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Reference quality sound that uses the TV remote to control power and volume.

440w system and subwoofer, 60w stated on the back (if you plan on swapping out the subwoofer like me). This is the only 3.1 system I've been able to find with a subwoofer for under $1,000. The center channel is important for movies because it reproduces vocals. The subwoofer output is important to me because soundbar subwoofers typically suck, stay unplugged, and often fail. I find the bass adds to the experience. Too bad I didn't hear it before ordering the SVS PB1000 as this subwoofer fills my small bedroom. I don't think any other system can compete for $349 on Black Friday, $575 seems like a fair price based on the competition. I bought the $189 satellite speakers which I will review upon delivery, but the surround mode offers a rich front soundstage. I prefer AVR soundbars for the aesthetics, simplicity, and convenience. Reference quality sound using the TV remote for power and volume if you have HDMI (ARC). Edit: I'm still very happy with the soundbar. I say skip the satellite speakers. They don't add much. The SVS PB1000 is a much better investment if you want to take it to the next level. I now have clean, crisp highs and bass, but a bit of a lack of mids (remember that when compared to high-end stereo, it's on a different level than any other soundbar I've heard). Some treble adjustment would be nice, but the mids are a bit lacking. If they made a larger version of this with 5-6 inch midrange drivers I would pay extra to get them. I would buy bookshelf speakers but 3.1 is better for movies. Disclaimer: The factory subwoofer sits on a wall shelf in the corner and I'm pretty sure it's boosting the subwoofer. May not perform as well as I do when sitting on the floor next to a TV stand. I found it sounded best with both subwoofers. The Klipsch subwoofer reproduces higher frequencies without vocals in the signal. I had to turn off the SVS to play below 80Hz or I could hear voices through it. But now it sounds amazing and I want to go back and watch all my action movies. The opening scene of "Saving Private Ryan" rocked the house but didn't drown out the high frequencies.
