Review on πŸ“± I2CDriver by Excamera by Chad Aguirre

Revainrating 4 out of 5

For me it would be better if controlled by default

Upgrade from 3 (0.5) to 4 stars: Today (01/16/2020) Windows GUI program is stable. No changes other than I didn't do any software development for the Arduino with all the serial driver plug and play that goes with it. Original: For some reason this device starts up in "D" mode, which I think means "do nothing". " all it does is tell you the bus voltage and current consumption. It supposedly means "driver" that allows you to input I2C commands over USB. But I used it for Arduino monitoring/debugging projects so this is useless. I need to set it to 'M' mode to control the I2C bus, then the display will show you what's going on. It would be nice if there was a button on the board so you don't have to connect a computer to achieve this .Installer doesn't bother adding the path to the command line tool to the environment variables, which is annoying enough often, but I was able to put I2CDriver in monitor mode using i2ccl.exe .source code and even eagle files are available so If I could figure out how to flash new firmware I could probably set it as the default in monitor mode. Maybe only if it doesn't find the USB host in a second or two. There isn't marked pins au f the back, which has something to do with blinking. The MyForth environment is not an environment I've ever heard of.

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Very expensive
