Nioxin doesn't work like a hair thinner. I have been using the entire #4 line of treatments for chemically treated thinning hair for two years and my hair is healthy and thick. It keeps the roots clean and healthy allowing your hair follicles to breathe and stay loose and open, not clogging, keeping the strands intact and even encouraging regrowth. Use shampoo, conditioner and scalp treatment for best results. Be patient and give the products at least 6 months to really work and see great results. Nioxin also sells a growth simulator which I highly recommend.
