They fit so much more than any DT socks I own. And all my socks are German. From Micro-Team, 1/4s, no appearances. From ultra light to extra padded. I have always worn size XL and size L was a bit tight but worked. They are massive. I assume the dimensions have changed. Also, these aren't thick socks, I think the heavy denomination is the thickness of the cord. They are not an additional cushion like mountain socks. They have the highest percentage of wool you can get from dt. That's it. Usually it's 63 64 or even 50 for lightweights. Any. They feel good, probably great socks. It just confuses the notation. And I don't have to reach into every sock and check the wool content. My mistake is that I thought the extra weight meant extra cushioning. size bothers me
