CarPlay and Android Auto in my 2011 Toyota Sienna!

I had a coupon code and was able to purchase it for about $114 before tax. I'm so used to stereos being bulky and heavy, but this one was thin, unobtrusive and very light. I thought it was more of a head unit with no built in amplifier. But loud enough! 4 x 60W as far as I know. I hooked this up to a Metra install kit which unfortunately I had to cut a hole too small for a double noise - I had to use a frame to hide my failsafe Dremel skills. that's another story. and used meter wiring. Dishes. It was a breeze with the Metra wiring harness, just leave the backlight wire unplugged or you'll default to a dark screen every time. I was also able to connect a Toyota built-in rear view camera, but I didn't like the quality, so I decided to install the one that came with the head unit. I routed the wires back along the driver's side skirting boards and up to the tailgate. I had to extend about 6 feet of cord to make it work in my situation. Connect the red power wire to the red wire from the reversing light, ground the red/black wire and drill through the sheet metal to complete the installation. Functions and sound are very efficient and the touchscreen responds without any noticeable lag, although the viewing angle is not the greatest. In CarPlay mode the audio output is lower than the radio output so I need to find out if it can be boosted, maybe on a phone. I've tried wiring the steering wheel controls but don't know how. Toyota has two steering control wires with ground (pin 6 ground, 7.8 from 20 pin connector). Pins 6 and 7 worked for me. The steering wheel controls can be accessed from the settings menu by swiping on the icons on the bottom row, which I didn't realize until I contacted support - they were quick to respond. I don't want to install a head unit that costs more than the car itself. I still have to connect and test the rest of the functions like Bluetooth and all other settings, but overall I'm satisfied so far.
