I love this shop! - Portable CD Players

This is great. Twenty years ago, when CDs were still a fairly new thing, I remember buying a Sony Walkman that cost me over $200 and played two CDs on 4 AA batteries. Now see what you get - a machine that costs a lot less, runs about 40 hours on a single battery (and rechargeable batteries are cheap now too), and here's a killer one using the software that comes with this kit. you can store up to 30 hours of audio on a single CD using Sony's patented ATRAC3 Plus compression technology. Alternatively, you can convert audio files to MP3, which this player can also play, and get about 12 hours of acceptable quality audio. If that sound is good for you then I don't think you can go wrong with this kit at this price point. I've used it to record audio books and 10 part dramatizations of long novels from BBC webcasts using a recording program. So now I have all of Hardy's Far from the Madding Crowd, Dickens' Our Mutual Friend, and Agatha Christie's Nemesis. all on one CD that I listen to on long car rides. This eliminates the hassle of multiple CDs sliding around the cabin and falling behind the seats. It seems to me that there are countless possibilities for all sorts of other things. For example, you can store 100 music CDs on 4 CDs for in-car use. Very neat and comfortable. Of course, the question arises as to whether the sound quality is sufficient in such a compressed format. For me it is, and the jazz tracks I've recorded sound great for in-car use. Of course, if you're a professional audio engineer, or maybe a professional musician, you might have a problem with that, but for the rest of us, it's probably fine. The remote control isn't great and the control buttons are a bit small for big fingers, but you get used to it. Removing the battery for replacement and/or charging is a bit awkward, especially if you have big fingers. Connecting to a car radio, wired remote control and wired power adapter will make you a little confused. Cable in the car, but with such a battery life you can easily do without a power supply and a remote control, then you only have one cable and the player can sit on the passenger seat. With a little practice, you can toggle it on and off and skip tracks without looking. So if you have an old car with a CD player that doesn't play MP3 CDs and you want to get rid of the CD stuff in your car, or you want to fit some audio books or maybe a language learning course on the CD, that could be a good buy. I do not regret it. The obvious question is: why not use a device like the iPod instead? You can certainly do it, but not at the same price. And for me it's very easy to pop in a CD and then put it aside when I'm done and doesn't take a lot of time or effort.
