Great and versatile product!

Received this electric range last Thursday and put it to use over the weekend. Based on the different dishes I've cooked I'm very happy to report that I really enjoyed using it, even more so than my expensive electric stove (not that I won't be using my stove again)! This is because this thing looks durable and is small, easier to use, easier to clean and store (if needed). Due to its small dimensions, it does not take up much space on the countertop. If you have a small family, you will love using it to make small meals for 1-2 people. It sure is good to make a quick lunch. I also like the auto shut off feature when the water in the pot boils over. It has happened to me several times over the years that I have completely forgotten about boiling water/cooking food on the stove. It's always good to have a device that remembers when to turn it off if you forget it. I've also found that a lot of different dishes can be cooked in this pot, not just soupy things like pasta, noodles, stews, etc. A steamer basket is definitely a plus! This means that I can cook vegetables or fish fillets in it, which will be my next try. I've read other comments about not using it to steam rice. Well I tried steaming the rice to test its limits. Guess what? it worked. Of course, I didn't just add uncooked rice and water directly to the pot, otherwise the water would evaporate too quickly (even at 200W) for the rice to cook properly. Instead, I used the inner pot of a mini rice cooker (since I already have one at home). For this method, I put rice and water (1:1 ratio) in this separate stainless steel mini saucepan (which is, of course, slightly smaller than an electric saucepan). Then I poured water (about 1 cup) into an electric pot and placed an egg rack on the bottom of the pot. Then I put this mini rice pot on the egg rack and then put the lid on the hot pot. I set the timer to cook rice for about 40-50 minutes (for 1 1.5 cups) at 200 watts. The rice was ready when the time was up. Those who are creative can use the steamer basket to steam rice, but I haven't tried this method. Besides steamed rice, I also tried noodle soup, vegetarian soup and congee. All were successful. Just be sure to remove the lid once the water has reached the boiling point, otherwise the water may boil over depending on what is being cooked in it. soap pot. Hard water also accumulated once (white spots on the bottom). However, all of this can be remedied with a bartender's friend (for that typical stainless steel iridescent color) or a vinegar soak (for hard water build-up). When washing the pot, just be careful not to get too much water into the base where all the electrical stuff is kept. I hope the above review is helpful to those who wish to purchase this item in the future. Thank you for reading!
