The product looks good and I like its components. But the outside is plastic. As for temperature control, you can't use it as a slow cooker. At the lowest temperature, it cooks in less than 10 minutes. If you leave it on, the water will overflow. Because this happens at the lowest temperature, you can't slow cook anything. I have never used a high temperature as it boils heavily even on a low setting. If the temperature control was better on this product I would be very happy with it.

The chili in the picture was home delivered (by Ziploc Twist 'n loc). I had potatoes and green beans delivered to the hotel (along with some other items). Delicious. To be honest this meal was delicious. I use the device mainly as a steam cooker (egg cooker converted to potato cooker). I put green beans in for less time during the last 10 minutes of cooking.
