I have to start by saying I have a lot of pro audio gear and it certainly isn't serious pro quality. But for the money this set is great! And the types of cameras it's designed for can't support large, heavy, and power-hungry professional microphones anyway. I bought it to keep my Canon G7X III handy. I bought a metal mount for this camera which adds a pair of cold boots so it's perfect for this configuration. I paid more for a similar windshield accessory than this entire kit. For smartphones or compact cameras, this means a significant improvement in sound quality and directionality. Make no mistake, though: this isn't a serious gun mic. So don't expect it to magically give you broadcast-quality audio over long distances. But for vlogging or shooting close to the subject, it works wonders to improve the sound.
