Good idea but doesn't work

Our kitchen chairs have very narrow ends. They fit snugly when you pull them over the bottom of the chair. But when you sit down and move the chair away from the table, the small pads at the ends of the chair legs move. We tried wrapping tape around them to tighten them but it didn't work. Very frustrating.
