The Aqueon Pro heater is a dangerous product and should be recalled
Four years after using this product under normal conditions, the Aqueon 100W Pro heater failed catastrophically. My wife and I were sitting in the living room when we heard a loud hiss coming from the aquarium. Almost immediately, smoke poured out of the furnace and filled our entire house. Luckily we were nearby and were able to turn off the heath quickly. If we hadn't been home or gone to bed an hour later, it could have been a lot worse. I'm afraid this heater could have started a fire. This product is dangerous. We have reported the incident to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission for review. This heater must be recalled to avoid property damage, personal injury, or worse.
