Review on McGill 2-Inch Reach Hole Punch with 1/8 Inch Round Punchline, Chrome/Purple (MCG52400C) by Kim Sanchez

Poorly made

I have a 30 year old McGill hole punch that magically punched a hole in a small USPS priority mail box. The old one worked so well I was making holes in two boxes at once without realizing it. But I needed deeper penetration. The punch of a new punch hits the edge of the metal hole it has to pass through due to poor alignment and poor quality control. Apparently trying to punch a hole in flimsy cardboard makes the problem worse. I literally can't punch a hole with it. The only way to hit a hole is to try, let go, try again, repeat if necessary, eventually it passes, but then you'll probably be trying to break through several other locations. Looks very messy. Please note that my old one was made in the US and the new one was made in China. Big disappointment! This kick is basically useless to me. Yes, and during the shoot, dots fell out of the few holes I could punch everywhere after a lot of effort.

Pros
  • 2" reach allows for more flexible positioning
Cons
  • Available in white only
