Review on 🚙 Enhanced Vehicle Blind Spot System - Brandmotion RDBS-1500 for 2007 & Later Models by Ramon Hood

Brandmotion is constantly improving the RDBS-1500, so the guide launched in December 2019 had some additions that made the installation a bit difficult. One instruction states that the sensors must be mounted 3-10mm from the inside of the bumper. Such a tight tolerance would be almost impossible to achieve as the pump has to be turned off to install the sensor, but Brandmotion technical support assured me that the distance to the bumper is not critical as long as the sensor is installed at a right angle. I installed mine about 3 inches from the bumper and it still works GREAT. Brandmotion strongly recommends having a professional install the system, but I have not been able to find anyone in the Augusta, GA area who has installed one. As a result, I had to remove and replace the bumper instead of the body, install the signal lights, CAN controller, interior wiring harness, and install sensors. Total cost was $280 plus about 4 hours to install the sensors. The audio equipment store estimated it at $600-700. The end result was worth the effort, it's been working for a few weeks now and I haven't had any false alarms or it not triggering when it should. This kit from Brandmotion includes everything you need to install the system, down to the screws and cable ties. It communicates with the vehicle via a connector, which is connected to the OBD II connector (which is used to check engine light bulb failure data). When diagnosing a car, the system needs to be disconnected from the network, but that's easy to do. I am adding this additional review on 12/04. 2020 after almost a year of use. I don't often write reviews, but this blind spot alarm is an exceptional system. In a year of using this device, there has never been a false alarm or missed collision alert. It's rare that I'm completely satisfied with a product, but if I could give this product 10 stars out of 5, I would. but this is easy to do.
