If it didn't have stems, it would just fall apart when you took it out.
I love these mixing sticks, they burn fiercely. but I've noticed a lot of people give bad reviews because of the stems in them. Common sense is that if it didn't have stems, it would just fall apart when you took it out. because I brought some fresh white sage and took out the whole stalk and rolled it up. as soon as it dried it broke. i feel so stupid That's why every company always puts sticks in their blender sticks. You should put it in the product description so people don't get upset.
