Review on Edelbrock 8712 Carburetor Spacer by Walter Day

Worked great after I added an Edelbrock 2732 Square Hole Gasket Plate to widen the hole. The Edelbrock Performer's inlet is a wide bore design and I had a slight leak threading in this square bore gasket. Fixed leak with adapter plate 2732. Used on a 1979 SBC 400 with an Edelbrock 1406 carburetor. Previously had a 2" 4-bolt aluminum spacer. I haven't noticed any horsepower gain. or TQ from my aluminum to this composite spacer. The reason I bought it is to solve a hot start problem. Fuel boiled out when parked Carburetor Carbohydrates used to be as hot as consumption Now barely warm after a long drive No more starting problems and no more smell of petrol after parking.
