🚗 New Edelbrock 1405 Performer 4-Barrel Carburetor with Manual Choke, 600 CFM Square Bore and Air Valve Secondary Review

First I ordered and received a Burned with a Holley carburetor. Holley sucked, but Edelbrock saved the day. I will never buy anything other than BIG E.

bought to fit my old American PSU. I'm impressed with the fit and finish of the product, it looks really nice on the engine. And it's made in the USA. The engine started without any adjustments. Got a good deal from Revain because there was an oil stain on the box.

very good road performance on a 1979 Camaro. If you have an original intake manifold you will need an Edelbrock adapter and an air filter. Use a regular screw to fix the filter. The gap between hood and filter is minimal. Ideally you would want to fit an Edelbrock intake manifold before fitting this carburetor, but this is more expensive.

Purchased to replace a marine carburetor on a 350 Mercruiser. Edelbrock had a #1409 marine carburetor, but it cost almost $200 more than the #1405. After adding a longer throttle lever screw and plugging a vacuum line, it works great and is a huge improvement over the 25 year old original. In the end it saved the time it took to restore the old one and was cheaper than an exact replacement.

We've found a fantastic deal on the Revain Warehouse at around 30% off the RRP. The sales packaging was completely destroyed, but was in a box that was fine. All the parts were in stock, the carburetor looked good so I bought it. If you have the opportunity to buy through stock deals I would recommend it. I screwed this bad boy on and in half an hour I was on my way. Good throttle response and as always the carburettor turned very easily.

I am very disappointed with what I received, I put a 'new' carburetor on my car, the car didn't work for long, maybe an hour then it did started to stall so i took it to my mechanic to have it checked and found that all the internal components of the carburetor were worn and used with a green tint as if the fluid had been in the carburetor for a long time. I used this on my 1979 Corvette and it works great. It may have lost some horsepower, but it runs better and the fuel consumption is also a bit better. The only issue I had was that I needed a riser on the manifold to clean things like the EGR valve, which also needed a cleaning extension. Carbohydrate. Great! I mounted this on my 1965 Ford Galaxie with a 390. Mid-range engine, bored, .495 cam, heavy duty cast iron heads, Edelbrock Performer 390 intake manifold, MSD ignition, short headers and full 3" exhaust with flow masters. It should perform well and the Holley 4150 I had on it was fine. This Edelbrock carburetor brought my engine to life, it's a very different machine. I bought this Edelbrock to replace my old Street Demon 4b Racer. Despite Edelbrock's reputation, I actually thought it would probably be some sort of downgrade in terms of power and performance. Man, was I glad I was wrong. This carb isn't as powerful, but the fact that it's more practical than the Street Demon makes it amazing.
