I used this on my 1979 Corvette and it works great. It may have lost some horsepower, but it runs better and the fuel consumption is also a bit better. The only issue I had was that I needed a riser on the manifold to clean things like the EGR valve, which also needed a cleaning extension. Carbohydrate. The other problem is that with all this carb raising, the standard air cleaner housing no longer fits with the stock hood on it. I had to replace it with an Edelbrock air filter that fits under the hood. Everything was fine until I moved to California and now my car doesn't even pass a visual inspection. The air filter cannot be opened for the elements. If you can work around all of these problems and don't have a carburetor that can be rebuilt then this is definitely a good carburetor. You can check the serial number of your current carburetor. This can cost money and it may be better for your car to just have it repaired.
