Just installed and no cold weather yet. Impressed by the versatility. Since the Avon cranks on my bike didn't have a choke sleeve and therefore there was no gap between the crank and handlebars, I decided to mount them on the outside of the crank, glue them on, and then add foam pads on each side. They seem to produce quite a bit of heat and are best used with gloves on. The electrics are easy to install, but I've decided to connect directly to the battery for now. The downside of this, of course, is that the switch can accidentally be left on and drain the battery. I took off one star because of the lack of a backlight.
