A worthy man could use some corrections; PERFECT for waffles!

Update: I finally found "Trump" for this tool. I have NEVER managed to get the right amount of waffle mix into a waffle iron. My new waffle maker calls for 1'1/3 cups of mixture, so I decided to give this tool a try for the job. It worked flawlessly, I can't think of a better way to do this job; My old style "miracle mug" was so difficult to slide compared to this one that it would be difficult to actually empty it. The dough was just the right texture so it didn't stick to the top of the plunger, I didn't even have to scrape it off, just press the plunger and go. add updates; My first copy had a bad impression so Amazon has replaced it with free shipping etc, unfortunately this won't convey feedback to the source very well, but at least the second copy will "stand up to the critique" which the first didn't . . Although it doesn't hold water very well. will leak a little through the seal but I didn't buy it for water, apparently I bought it to make waffles! If I don't use it for anything else, it's worth it to me. (I love waffles) ===== 1) mine came with smeared lettering as others have commented; this is definitely a quality control issue; The label ink feels quite hard, like it was packaged before the ink dried. 2) There is a design flaw that allows for variability. The piston should have a series of "ribs" to keep it centered in the outer tube. Very simple fix: wrap the o-ring around the inner piston so there is a second spot to keep the piston centered. Make sure it's not too tight. even better; Apply lots of small rubber stickers around the inner tube (I did 3 for about every inch). This keeps the center piston perfectly centered, with the added benefit of holding every position very well too. Basically it's a design fix to fix the biggest flaw. If I can figure out how to add an image later, I'll do it. Another quality control issue. Gasket design is ok but mine has a flat spot due to out of mold or something where water just drips through. 3) mine came with a faulty seal; it literally "doesn't stand up to scrutiny". As I have much better instruments for measuring water like liquids I think I will be fine as the main use of this instrument for me is measuring brown sugar. I am not sure if I will send it back. ) can be washed in the dishwasher, but this does not mean that it can be washed in the dishwasher. I'm not sure if there's any benefit to running the piston through the machine, but the outer tube is a solid polycarbonate or similar very strong plastic tube. As long as it doesn't rub hard while mashing to erase the label, it should be fine for a long time. I don't expect to have to verify the accuracy of dw.5). I did a simple 1c water meter test and it was accurate to within 1 teaspoon. This error is definitely within the margin of error when I evaluate the meniscus of water. I'm happy about this result. 6) Bulk Ability. I agree he should have a nose! what to do with it You can water well if the container it comes in is big enough for 100% watering, but often you want to water it slowly; Forget that plan. 7) Star rating. I'd give it a 3.5 due to the obvious quality control issues, but I'm rounding up because the overall design outperforms inferior soft plastic models like the Schmamered-Schmef design. I've been using it for years, it "does the job" but this one is an endless improvement in "touch and feel". Another design has a closed plunger for measuring liquids without a seal, but it's nearly impossible to read through the thick, opaque plastic. Inscription on top of disc. the coefficient of static friction of the rubber ring on polycarbonate "rolls" under pressure it *should* tear the disc off. It would be better if they made it clearer, but they seriously don't pull without twisting. This part is far from touching your food, eliminating the need to use "food safe glue". 9) Proposal for storage; You can avoid this problem by following one of the following ideas: a) NEVER store completely closed; Just as the syringe immediately pulls off the rubber sheath when held fully depressed, you can expect problems if the first action is to PULL the plunger. If you leave at least an inch of room or make sure you push the plunger out, you'll never put any sort of "pull" force on the part, so you can't break it that way. b) as indicated under "a"; PUSH the plunger even for a few minutes for the first use after storage; the seal "sticksโ€ to the outer wall. If it's held "slightly open," you can close it first and then drag and twist, or if it stays fully closed, press the black seal to move everything. and c) to prevent premature seal wear *and* avoid self-destruction, install pistons upside down or store separately (even better). They made a small bevel on the bottom of the tube and when the plunger is put back the seal takes about 10% of the force. this significantly reduces leakage problems. I will be contacting the company about manufacturing defects on my copy and will post more information to see what they suggest for my faulty model and I will adjust my star rating accordingly

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Too stupid
