Near Perfect Personal Paper Cutter

Her skin was so smooth, her appearance was so flawless. - Dryden. I like the shiny aluminum plate with precise and clear dimensions. This cutter is very thin and compact. The maximum single cut is just over 12 inches (approx. 31 cm) and you can use the ruler to cut material up to 15 3/4 inches or 40 cm in length. Material can be cut to a reasonable accuracy of 1/16 inch or 1/16 inch for metric units. At first glance, this block looks weak; amazing rigidity is achieved by the raised plastic rib on the back and the rather thick metal plate mentioned above. I was able to cut up to 4 sheets of standard printer paper in one pass and up to 6 sheets in two passes with the blade using moderate force. If you need to cut out more than this amount I'd suggest a disc cutter, but it's perfect for cropping photos or just a few sheets. This cutter has 4 rubber feet to attach to your work surface. The blade is simply a sharp strip of metal protruding from a piece of plastic that follows the cutting path. Compared to disc blades, these replacement blades are expensive ($8.21 for two at the time of review), but I find the added precision, sleek design, and portability of this trimmer to be worth the reasonable consumable cost. I'm picky when it comes to the design of plastic products, focusing on how easy they are to clean. If I had to mention one negative thing about this cutter, it would be the placement of the rubber feet on the bottom; they are located exactly in the lower corner, which prevents a thorough cleaning of the plastic strip surrounding them. Little things like that bother me, because this design flaw is easily avoided by placing the legs about an inch from the edge with no noticeable loss of stability or functionality. I hope you find this review helpful. they are located exactly in the lower corner, which prevents a thorough cleaning of the plastic strip surrounding them.
