BETTER THAN TOVOLO AND WORTH THE PRICE. HERE'S WHY

, but recently tried this Zoku brand. You might be wondering, like me, whether Zoku is really worth the higher price tag. Well I can tell you from experience of using both that answer is definitely yes. Let's start with why I needed new ice molds: recently the tovolo mold slipped out of my hand twice while removing it. Freezer compartment and was partially broken when it fell to the ground. Both forms had to be replaced. It's not that I'm too slippery - my greasy fingers are to blame - it's that the plastic doesn't fall off or break. If you fill it to just the right height, your ice ball may turn out to be deformed. Third, releasing the ice ball from the mold was random, sometimes easy, sometimes not. Zoku forms, on the other hand, couldn't be easier to fill out. Add water through the small hole in the mold, fill to the brim, then turn the mold over to drain the excess. Surprisingly, even when inverted, the water stays in the mold chamber and only the excess is poured out. Perfect scoops of ice cream every time. And it's just as easy to share them. Simply unscrew the top half of the mold and pull out the ball. It is so easy. While I haven't dropped the Zoku mold straight out of the freezer yet, I will say that the plastic seems flexible enough to better withstand a fall. Thank you for taking the time to read my review and I hope you find it helpful in your purchase decision.
