I've had either short lids or extra cups (doesn't count) but I have a stack of at least 20 cups without lids on my counter. At the same time, the children took root well and did not leak. I've made about 500 Jell-Os and these cups have held up well. Some have sharp edges and will cut your mouth. but if you're drunk enough, you won't realize it until you're sober. If you're ordering these to make Jell-O-Shots, do yourself a favor and order the Jellinator too. less mess and save a lot of time! If you're ordering them for seasoning, that whole sharp-edged thing won't be a problem unless you're making seasoning shots (if it's a 'thing', I don't want to be a part of it). Bottom line, I think I'll continue to buy the Blue Diamond brand at Walmart - the saving was only pennies and I know the quantity (lid/cup) is a better match for the Blue Diamond brand.
