Our little gas miser has worked well with many FRAM brand filters for over 126,000 miles with no problems! no oil consumption between oil drain intervals of 4000-7500 miles each. We find it odd that Oil Svc agencies would want to charge for a filter that costs the same or less than most average car filters. So I found a place to grab and change my filter and oil which saves me a lot! Some places will charge as much as $89 for a 2013 Toyota Prius, a mugger. I'm not sure why transparency and thickness matter. In an oil filter, some might argue that a thicker gauge can affect oil filtration flow due to oil pressure, so I left those boxes blank.
