Update: After hanging the ladder on the wall for more than a year, the hook broke off the mounting plate and fell off, damaging the mound and mirror of my car. DO NOT BUY. I wouldn't say the included wall screws are *completely* useless, but they are sub-par. If you are hanging more than 20-25 pounds from your hook I would suggest using a larger screw/bolt. I used a 1/4" x 3" bolt for the hook that holds the ladder and another for the hook that holds the electric lawn mower. While you can use the included screws for such loads, why take the risk? I expect many users like me will use it in the garage and if my ladder and/or lawn mower unhook from the wall and fall on the car, no worries. I would only consider using drywall anchors for *very* light loads. On the plus side, the hook selection is good, they are well made and the plastic hook covers feel solid.
