Purchased for metalwork on copper and silver. To bring down the marks of the file on the edges of some of my work. The colored blocks have a nice ground finish and not the polished finish you might find on white blocks. Sand sticks can be used the same way, but I like the soft give-in cubes. Grinding rods are also good for removing carbon buildup from a gas water heater igniter. Just turn everything off first. Google how to make a video! I don't want anyone to get hurt over something stupid. Or break a nail.
