DEWALT SERVES ME GOOD TO THIS DAY. DO NOT SPEND YOUR TIME ON CUSTOMER SERVICE NOR MONEY ON THIS POS!

I am a huge Dewalt fan and user. Got some tools, give them as gifts, grew up with them from 18 volt chainsaw to 40 volt. Because of their core quality, customer service never had to be called. I hope you never have to either. They are open from 9am to 5pm. Practical for do-it-yourselfers, no. The phone wait time was an hour before my phone battery died on the first call (music was good). Background: LED lights worked, phone charger worked, charger discharge button, light and function did not work. After I finished trying the first device, I almost immediately started my lawn tractor using the Li-Ion/Capacitive Discharge device that was in my car. Let's get back to the fix efforts. The second call took about 20 minutes to connect. AND THEN the service advisor was useless, helpless and just busy scrolling through "recommendations" with no new suggestions for a solution. Not knowing anything about the problem the only solution was to assume that the 3 different fully charged batteries I used could be faulty or old at 2 and 3 amps. And that I should buy a 5 amp battery for a few hundred dollars which he could arrange and which would probably work. Maybe send the unit back to Amazon (first thing I returned I thought it was just a lemon) because when it's sent to a Dewalt service center it takes about a couple of weeks and they won't can offer a better solution than returning or exchanging them. I've been inundated with Milwaukee ads and have a few of their wired instruments, maybe it's time for a change, maybe not. BUT DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON THIS POSITION.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Almost never
