Used sheets start out white and then turn light, dark gray or pink depending on the colors you washed. Since using these sheets I have had no color transfer. When washing new jeans and light-colored clothes that are known to go around, you can do the first wash separately. For the first wash only. Then you can be sure that these sheets will be fully loaded from now on. They really work! I don't know how they know what to do, but they definitely work! Keep in mind that half a sheet usually works well on standard loading, and you can stretch the buck too!
