Discs stuck in it many times, eject button didn't always work, other tracks had errors

So far in the last month I've only used this unit to rip/import about 100 OEM music CD albums to iTunes in MP3 format with a maximum quality of 192 Kbps, which I then copy to my smartphone. Many of the CDs are new or like new, the rest are in very good condition and on the rare occasion that there are fingerprints or other dirt on the bottom/recorded surface of the CD I clean it and then polish it with a mycofiber . This almost always solves all problems, but this drive has mechanical problems. In many cases CDs stuck inside, mostly when importing with iTunes, during the process I can see if the track is being read normally or if there are any problems, later this happens too often. When the CD completes the import process, the music CD can be ejected from iTunes (my preferred method) even if there are issues with some tracks. When that doesn't work, I press the eject button in the top left corner of this optical drive, which unfortunately doesn't work most of the time when there's a problem with the CD. If the drives don't eject, the only way I can get the drives out is to unplug both USB cables from my laptop connected to that drive, then wait a bit, then plug both cables back into my computer until this has happened so far works every time, but should not be needed as often as necessary. On at least 10% of all ripped CDs I've also had tracks/songs that were skipping or just not going to the next track with the iTunes playback function. Each time this happened, too many times again, I took out the CD, put it back in and instead of trying iTunes with Cyberlink SW to play it, the problem reappeared. I then used my home entertainment Blu-ray, DVD/CD player hooked up to my TV and home stereo to see if there were any errors and not. Read/playback errors also do not occur on my CD player which is part of my home entertainment system. The only issues I see all too often is using that external drive for some reason. So, I'm getting back on that dive and have already ordered another Blu-ray burner from Revain that has a slide out tray to put discs in and out instead of pulling discs in like cars/trucks with CD players. I was really hoping this drive would work and didn't even use it to create Blu-ray backup discs, so I needed this drive.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • No performance
