mediocre - upgrading optical drives

This unit vibrates, ejects discs randomly (every few hours on average) and requires TWO USB cables to operate (both must be unplugged to turn it off). I bought it because I wanted a slotted disc reader. This product works, but there should be better disc players. Update - disk no longer works. It spins up and down, doesn't recognize Blu-Ray discs, recognizes DVDs but doesn't play them.

At the moment it works best in the Computers & Accessories category

Well I don't understand the purpose of Type-C because you have to connect at least one of the other USBs for it to work, but in at least it works it only with one of the USBs. USB3.0! Does not work with old USB. THE CABLE IS MUCH, MUCH, MUCH too short. Good thing I already had extensions. The eject button doesn't work, but I can eject it from my PC. If you want to play Blu-ray, don't forget to buy Blu-ray playback software. Lots of good stuff on the internet for free.

Best external USB connection

I've been looking for a portable Blu-ray DVD player for a long time and found/chosen this one. I wanted a Blu-ray player that didn't need to be plugged into an outlet. Also, I wanted one that didn't have "pins". I chose this one because it just plugs in and works. I love the idea of a USB connection so I can plug this player into my laptop anywhere and it will work. while it works fine. Misleading description and low quality

First of all, judging by the pictures and the description, you might think that this device can work with any USB, making it a universal option. nope! Both must be connected at the same time for proper operation. Not only is this misleading, but the cord is so short that it's almost impossible to plug them in at the same time. Discs stuck in it many times, eject button didn't always work, other tracks had errors

So far in the last month I've only used this unit to rip/import about 100 OEM music CD albums to iTunes in MP3 format with a maximum quality of 192 Kbps, which I then copy to my smartphone. Many of the CDs are new or like new, the rest are in very good condition and on the rare occasion that there are fingerprints or other dirt on the bottom/recorded surface of the CD I clean it and then polish it with a mycofiber . This almost always solves all problems, but this drive has mechanical problems.
