Review on πŸ”Š Yamaha NS-IW280CWH In-Ceiling Speaker System - 6.5" 3-Way, White (Pair) by Kelly Hunt

Great speakers for your budget!

Perfect for my economical yet amazing sounding home theater! My wife asked us to upgrade our home theater (cool right?) to keep cables out of reach of our unborn child. By moving all of our speakers to the ceiling, you eliminated one thing that could get displaced, disconnected, or damaged, so I went to town to research the best options for this upgrade. After some searching, Yamaha seemed like a combination of quality and price, so I went that route. I was in no way disappointed. One of the biggest benefits of using all Yamaha speakers? They use the same pattern regardless of speaker size. I used an 8" 2-way Yamaha for the center channel, everything was the same as these 6.5" for the front and rear side speakers. You cut the same hole, use the same jig, and it all works. I feel better about having to replace a future speaker when it fails. Installation was easy. Find where you want to place it (make sure you don't do this over the ceiling joist or you'll stuff holes), trace the template, cut the hole, thread the wire, plug it in and then secure it speaker in the hole. I used banana plugs throughout the installation which makes wiring very easy. The electronics used in these speakers are also covered in durable plastic, making the construction waterproof. It's perfect for being on the ceiling, although it shouldn't (better not) see the water. After everything is connected, the sound comes out exactly as I would expect. Adding a subwoofer to the system almost eliminates the need for a three-way speaker, but it's good to get some of the high-frequency bass out of the speakers. For a basic home theater experience, this is the perfect addition that won't spoil your sound. Bank. Yamaha speakers are phenomenal and I would recommend them to anyone who asks.
